The main character called Yanka is eager to find out about her birth parents and her past. Leaving her best friend Sasha and the person that has been looking after her called Mamochka , Yanka begins the search for her grandmother and finds many friends on the way. At the end the all work together to fight Smey.

It is filled with mysteries. Also it is a story with stories inside it. If you enjoy reading books like this ,The girl who speaks bear is the book for you.
