The EYFS Curriculum is designed with the purpose of supporting our children to become independent, creative, and critical thinkers. All of these qualities make up self regulated learners, who can maintain focus and concentration for sustained periods of time. The EYFS learning environment is intended to be one that enhances learning opportunities within a stimulating and engaging environment, which is tailored towards meeting the needs of each individual child, with a high focus on holistic child development.

We have carefully devised an EYFS curriculum that is aspirational and ambitious, behind which, however, there is also careful sequencing, which will help children build up their learning over time. We lay claim to a bespoke curriculum, underpinned by sound foundational and deliberate knowledge.

Communication is crucial to our curriculum, where EYFS practitioners explicitly model effective language development. Our practitioners place learning at the heart of all that they do, with the role of the adult being to facilitate and scaffold learning, and the goal being to provide high quality education and care which is inclusive of, and consistent for, all children.

Moreover, reflective practice sessions enable EYFS practitioners to review and analyse learning and, most importantly, to decide what their immediate next steps will be to ensure their planning, teaching and learning is adaptive and responsive to closing the identified gaps in learning, immediately. In this way, EYFS practitioners select pedagogical choices to inform their teaching. They observe children with a focus on holistic child development, and they use the valuable information they’ve gained to inform their practice.

Finally, and significantly, we pride ourselves on the strong relationships we’ve established with our parents, with careful consideration given to what our parents know, and say about their children.
